Description
This Bancha comes from the older leaves at the bottom of the tea plant from the spring harvest . Bancha usually comes from later summer or autumn harvests. Its aroma is mild , floral and fresh . It has warm cereal notes and is slightly tart. The older leaves contain less caffeine and amino acids, but more minerals and tannins . This makes it suitable for later in the evening or with meals. In Japan it is also often served to children. The large leaves are very productive and are folded rather than rolled into needles as is usually the case.
